38 minutes Woking to Waterloo. Would've been a lot quicker were it not for the 10 yard long 20 mph TSR approaching Wimbledon. Never really had a chance to get going again after that.

Ah, I wondered why we slowed down before Wimbledon! 44932 was in fine form today, with some very spirited running in places. First time I've sampled a Black 5 on the main line and I could be easily converted!

    Regards,

    Dan

i'm suprised no one has commented on 44932's ascent of westbury bank last night!!!load 12,the train so full that people were almost riding on the buffers!! i and everyone stood photographing and watching, were left stunned and amazed at 44932's performace up past upton scudamore, running around 20 minutes late 44932 could be heard beyond westbury station station,i could almost imagine the driver turning to his fireman and saying this it ,this is where we go for it,come 'gal' lets show everyone what you can do with this load.the sound was loud and explosive, working up to a loud climax as it passed and then away back to silence only us lot stunned by what we had seen and heard, raw power that could be felt,no thrash.then this wasn't quite the end of the thrills for next came 'porton bank' 44932 made short work of this climb, despite the heavy load 44932 appeared to be taking the bank in its stride and at a speed that belied its load.could heard almost from salisbury tunnel junction up to grateley.whoever the crews were they certainly made 44932 talk and perform.fantastic.which reminds me about being on the roadbridge near the top of parkestone bank a couple of weeks ago for 30777's stunning climb of this bank making lots of noise it had just past when a girl screeched to a halt in her bmw mini had heard all the noise and commotion as she put and had to come and see what it was all about well i'm wondering what she wpould have about upton scudamore o thursday.thanks to free2grice for keeping me up to date on the running of 44932.

Any problems seeing this anyone? Understand from a previous thread that the field next to the line is under new ownership with no permission given for access for viewing the line.

Don't know about the firemen but the drivers were:

    1) London to Salisbury - Pete Roberts
    2) Salisbury to Bristol and back - Bill Warriner
    3) Salisbury to London - Dave Hewson

    Hope that helps!

Yes the performance from inside the train was quite spectacular - although I've never been over that bank before so I had nothing to compare it with. Actually that was the main reason I booked on the trip - to cover that bit of line. Just to be pedantic, the train was actually less than half full as most of the punters seemed to fancy a day out in Salisbury rather than Bath or Bristol. Still, quite a load for a Black 5. It seems like 44932 is a welcome addition to the (rather depleted) main line fleet.
