Just seen on Uksteam info that Tornado is standing in for 35028 on Friday's Surrey Hills run. After that there isn't a VSOE until October. Lets hope the MNLPS folks can get their steed back in good form during the scheduled break for maintenance. It's depressing for us Southerners that there isn't a Bulleid on the ML at the moment.

I see 60163 is going from Stewarts Lane to Alton after the Surrey Hills jaunt.

Hope it's coming via Guildford for positioning. Would appreciate any timings if available.

    Thanks

I will be out to see this. I am assuming the times will be about the same as the June 19th trip in the absence of more specific info.

Times now on uksteam - note the exceptionally long pathing stop(s) between Stewarts Lane and Clapham Junction - 1228 from Victoria, 1300 at Clapham!

One doesn't want one's customers having soup splashing all over the place whilst negotiating the various crossovers near to Clapham Junction, does one!

Sadly, for those out photting, the lovely crystal clear blue sky start to the day in Mid Kent has rapidly gone downhill to full cover with grey and threatening clouds. Doubt it will be much different over in Surrey.

While photographing 'Tornado' at Clapham Junction today, I saw this idiot (see photo extract) at the foot of the platfrom ramp on platform 4 - he and his kind are hastening the end of main line steam by their trespassing. Does anyone recognise him? He has a full beard which is not obvious from this shot. Captureidiot.JPG

He looks very much like the berk who got stuck under the level crossing gate at Exeter St Davids last year when we went on the CE with Tornado. The gate came down on his rucksack and pinned him down. If it is the same one he has also been seen on the lineside a few times on the wrong side of the fence.
