Lots of last minute preparations at Moor Road and all is going to plan so far...

MSC 32 completed a successful test run to the Park and back today. Hope all our efforts are rewarded with plenty of visitors this weekend - you'll be most welcome, if we can put some faces to avatars it would be good too!

Another successful day preparing for the gala. All of our shunting is complete and 32 and 67 prepared ready for the photo charters. As Ian says, 32 was tested today, and made a few light loco runs, followed by a loaded test run to Park Halt. The sun kindly came out, so I grabbed this quick pic.

One of the directors of the Leeds Brewery dropped by this evening aswell. Our beer is now ready, and will go on sale in the brewery's own pubs this week and be available over the gala weekend. He also kindly dropped of a few pump clips.

We are all looking forward to the weekend. I will be at the Moor Road groundframe both days. Please say hello if you come along.

    Thanks

There are still some places is anyone wants to come. Meet at Moor Road carpark at 09.00 (£35 per person, cash on the day).

Big tent arrived ready for the beer tent.

Dont forget Don Thorpes talk tomorrow night, £3 a head for a train ride and very interesting talk. All kicks off at Moor Road from 18.00. Beer tent will also be open and "Middleton Pioneer " available.

Really looking forward to the gala.

Congratulate the firemen. There's virtually no smoke in any of the photos I've seen. That's how it should be!!

    Hi all!

As a "working" member of the Middleton Railway, absent as I am currently working in New Zealand for a year, I would just like to pass on my congratulations to another brilliantly organised Middleton event, and one I'd very much like to be involved with if I wasn't currently in the Southern Hemisphere, doing my best to avoid the ongoing Earthquakes in Chirstchurch. I was involved with the Sponsorship deal with Leeds Brewery, and that alone was a massive amount of work from Andy, John and I, and an incredible amount of work has gone into reuniting these three magnificent machines since my departure. My sincerest congratulations and best wishes go to the Middleton Railway and the organising committee for a truly amazing gala. You never fail to do our little railway proud.

    From a very jealous fireman....

Popped down this morning/early afternoon, it's shaping up to be a good 'un and John's talk will be excellent. If you get the chance, go down and support the lads, they've worked very hard to make this happen - and the ale is grand too!

Back from the second day of charters . Fantastic two days , both 32 and 67 look and sound fantastic and the friendliness and helpfulness of all those at Middleton second to none . Fantastic to meet Andy and Ian as well

The beer tent is up , minature railway laid , Freight in place , passenger carriages ready and there is a lovely road roller too . There is a great photographic display on the engine house of the MSC as well

Lots of pictures to process so i'll upload sometime over the weekend, but I hope lots of you go and enjoy what I have the last two days

Just got back myself after listening to the talk about the MSC (and sampling the beer - only 1 pint though due to driving)

Fantastic day out and very well organised by Martin & everyone at the Middleton Railway

Just winding down from a great day (afternoon and evening really...) driving 4002 (which had flat batteries this morning - sorry!) What a beast of a machine! Great day today, please come and support if you can - I'll be the tired looking one with the pilotmans armband on...

Many thanks for the kind comments guys.

We had a few minor problems with 4002 and Matthew Murray today. All should be sorted for tomorrow and locos working their advertised diagrams. Do come and support us if you can.

    Many thanks.
