Crewe Heritage Centre Auction 02/10/2010.

Following on from the success of their first auction Crewe Heritage Centre will be hosting another on Saturday October the 2nd. As before the auction will feature a host of lots for all pockets from the steam era through to modern traction.

Throughout, all of the heritage centres attractions will be open, a locomotive is expected to be in steam and a free shuttle bus will operate between the Railway Station and the centre. NB Anyone worried about not getting their catalogue by post can arrange to collect it at the gate on the day.

 

Please note that admission to the Auction and Heritage Centre on 02/10/2010 will be by catalogue only.

Ther will be a small number of catalogues available on the gate the day of the auction.

 

Please note that although the whole site will be open during the auction access to and viewing of all the locomotives cannot be guaranteed. Many of the loco's are under cover or are dismantled, others are simply not accessable as half of the site is a WORK AREA. It is hoped that people will be able to see 35028 Clan Line, 6100 Royal Scot and 6201 Princess Elizabeth all of which are nearing completion of repairs. If you are lucky you MAY even catch a glimpse of 70000 Britannia.

 

It is now unlikely that 6201 Princess Elizabeth will be at Crewe this weekend for the auction as the loco was today being prepaired to move to Tyseley for more work to be carried out. If all goes to plan it is likely that the loco will move tomorrow (Wednesday 29th).

 

6201 has now been moved to Tyseley for completion of repairs and painting.
