I popped out and filmed 2807 the other week, fine looking engine, well done to all involved.

Wonderful to see that 2807 was chosen as the "Appeal" locomotive for the special train for the media on the Glos Warks Railway on 7 September. Fitting that the oldest GWR standard gauge loco not in state ownership was chosen as well as it being an ex-Honeybourne Line loco from both GWR and BR days. Only one problem, I wasn't there to see it with Mr Waterman on the footplate!

 

Just out of interest from Llangollen, how is 2807 performing since her return to steam and back to the Glos Warwickshire?

 

Thanks for your interest. No. 2807 is running well now. Currently out of service for a few days for a boiler washout, but subsequent running days will be:

Saturday 25 (Thomas weekend)
Sunday 26 (Thomas weekend)
Wednesday 29
Thursday 30
etc.

From the photopic site there is a photo of 2807 with the tender now sporting the GWR initials (introduced on GW goods locomotives during WWII or around the end of WWII I believe).

 

Will 2807 be running this weekend (9/10th October)
Thanks. I am planning to go and see it (if it is running) along with the vintage rally at Toddington.

 

At the moment sadly it looks as though 2807 will not be running this weekend. If this poves to be the case we are investigating the possibility of having the loco on display on the unloading road at Toddington.

Okay. Thanks. I do hope 2807 will still run. Thanks again for the update. Even so totally-transport.co.uk will be visiting for the vintage rally.

 

Unfortunately 2807 is not currently rostered for the weekend 9th /10th October. We are hoping to have the loco out in the car park.

 

No:2807 is rostered to run on the 16/17th October 2010 alongside No:7903 'Foremarke Hall' and diesels 47105 & 47376 as per GWSR website today.

 

2807 rostered for this weekend, working to the new blue timetable which takes in a trip over the viaduct. first trains this week were worked by 7903 facing tender first. the 28 faces south so for all you photographers this will be your first chance at the correct way round - as long as no one decides to put it on the north end!
My first outing on 2807, so looking forward to it.

 

I hope you enjoy your trip! If there are any subsequent photos of 2807 crossing the viaduct I would be most grateful! I'm not visiting Toddington until 20 November unfortunately.

 

2807 is running this weekend (6/7th November) and is running over Stanway Viaduct, as per the GWSR website today

 

I was out on 2807 yesterday on a filming contract (more to follow - but the purists will have a field day) the loco roster board now shows 8274 as being duty loco this weekend, so i guess thats the present situation. By the way 2807 is a gem - just mind your head on the corner of the cab roof!

 

No. 2807 is rostered for the weekend of 20/21 November. This is timetabled to include crossings of Stanway Viaduct. The GWSR's timetable can be found at

Thanks for the links to the photos and videos. I was there on 20th for the AGM but got little chance to take any photos - weather was very dull too. I still can hardly believe that 2807 is up and running - 29 years waiting takes some time to adjust to! 2807 is indeed a wonderful machine and will no doubt continue to bring us all heartache and pleasure from time to time - hopefully more of the latter!

 

2807 wins the Heritage Railway Association / Steam Railway Readers Award!
Last night Cotswold Steam Preservation was awarded the acolade.
Delighted Chairman of CSPL, Geof Adlingon, accepted the Award at the event, which appropriately was held at the Museum of the Great Western Railway at Swindon, which is housed in part of the works where 2807 was built.
