I hear there is some 2' equipment at Radstock (S&D)! Any idea what is there and what the plans are?

Balls, I did do that! However I think this link refers to a different scheme, and not the 2' equipment based at Radstock

In the days of SARA based at Radstock west (Wagon repair depot)1992 ish there were a couple of members who were into 2' gauge. They had some track laid in a farm up over the top of Writhlington somewhere I went there once on a Christmas / New year to deliver a load of 35lb rail that came off the Bristol flood prevention tunnel.

At that stage they could run some trains over about 300yds, Diesel loco and some enclosed coaches , maybe a van or two from memory . Not sure who owned the farm, or the bits of equipment, seemed to be multiple ownership each person owning a bit , but I dealt with a SARA member who lived in West London.

I suspect the person concerned with 2' gauge stuff is part of the crew who relocated to MSN when SARA folded, all the track gang and their kit went up to MSN station . It wasn not L&B standard stuff!! all a bit lightweight.

Anything to create transport links is worth consideration, but I fear the steering group haven't looked at the railway geography around Frome. At least two miles of the trackbed between Frome and Radstock are still in use by Network Rail for aggregate traffic from Whatley Quarry ....

There is another link to a group trying to reopen Frome - Radstock

    Cheers, Neil
PS - I don't have any connection with the North Somerset Railway

I thought that this was the equipment that went to Peak Rail at Rowsley
