    Just announced, with details to follow, but please note: "All service trains on all 3 days will be a diesel service."

    This answers criticism about having a mixed steam/diesel service on the Saturday. Presumably advance publicity will make it clear to non-enthusiast customers that there will be no steam on the Saturday.

    Yes I am an active volunteer
    I must admit the steam presence has always put me off SVR Diesel Galas. The railway can usually turn out a very good selection of diesels, and there are only so many trains you can run, so I thought it a shame that historically two rakes were "unavailable" to the diesels during their own weekend. I consequently have never visited the SVR for a diesel gala. However after this news the Saturday of this event may see that change... Hopefully there will be an unusual visitor or two to enjoy :)

    I'll definitely be there. Am hoping that some smaller classes might make an appearance.
