    What CHRIS (COALWAGON) sayes is true, its down to the parties concerned to decide the outcome its best that we all refrain from idle speculation once the agreement expires all will become clear

    This second light pacific i had heard about also, and is very welcome news but it will be many years before a home based rebuilt light pacific once again runs on MHR metals if its the engine i think it is

    Funny you should say that (and funny that I should appear) I was doing some googling last night and apparently 35022's boiler is already at Crewe. But I don't know if any work has been to it, or 35027 herself at Southall.

    now that would be something to see, whats the odds on Clan Line nicking the record for fastest modern day steam run up the climb but saying that would Tangmere go faster, its a common thought that the un rebuilts were faster machines and freer runners than their rebuilt sisters

    But would an unrebuilt light pacific out perform a rebuilt merchant navy with its larger firebox grate and bigger cylinders?
