    Latest news...

I have just heard from the train that due to the above post#39 it will be routed Man Vic-Stockport-Crewe and then Lichfeild-Derby (waterstop) to Sheffield.

All this may still be subject to change....I would suggest anyone who is subscribe to the SMS system uses it as there should be some updates from the train.

Bill and Albert are the drivers for the day.

I will keep you posted of any further changes if I hear anything.

    Neil.

...Also the diesel will be detached at Man Vic on the outward run to take the train back this evening.

At the moment, this is the plan, with the intention of regaining the booked path at Sheffield, although that will, of course, be subject to other traffic and the over-riding need to ensure sufficient water-stops are maintained.

The only person currently affected is the passenger getting on at Hathersage, who will now have to drive to Sheffield.......

Thank you all for the updates thus far. A friend of mine is hoping to see it at Derby so will be very pleased to hear they're getting there.

A quick back of fag packet based on mid-day at Crewe would suggest at least 13.00 at Derby - water stop, dep 13.30, Sheffield circa 14.15 at best: looks like sunset at Penistone with the whole of the remainder in the dark - Miles Platting to Ashburys still waits!
