'Black 5' 44932 with 11 maroon coaches in tow. A very smart looking train. <BJ>

another stunning performance given by lms black 5 44932 and driver warriner on their climb of westbury bank thursday evening in almost perfect conditions 44932 could be heard what seemed for miles, must have been trowbridge and westbury.the loco was doing its best to imitate a 'machine gun' such was the noise, rivalling its previous storming climb back in august.stunning.thanks to free2grice for all his updates during the day, very helpful.dread to think what conditions are going to be like for 60007 run to bristol, the weather forecast for wiltshire is terrible, blizzards and heavy snow forecast!!

We were on the bridge at Upton Scudamore bank for this too. It was a great spectacle. As remarked, perfect conditions and 44932 could be heard miles away. We were shrouded in smoke steam and sparks as it went underneath us. Well worth the wait in the cold clear air. Fantastic!

There was 8 or 10 of us on the bridge and a few more figures in the fields alongside. Lets hope that some, maybe over-enthusiastic, attempts at night photography don't cause problems for the future.
