    hi, dont know if this is rite place for this posting scan0001.jpg as i am new to the site. i have a photograph of a locomotive no.569 i am told my grt granfather was the driver the caption reads carry on during the railway strike leiston oct 2 19.. was wondering if anyone has any info on the locomotive or any other details, i think the line may have been saxmundham to aldeburgh thank for any help

    GER No 569 was a Y14 class 0-6-0 tender loco, classified J15 by the LNER and BR, later renumbered as 65467, built April 1912 at Stratford Works, withdrawn in Feb 1959 and scrapped at the same place. Presumably the strike mentioned was not the national strike of May 1926?

    thank you for your reply re ger 569 (65467) the strike was the great eastern railway engine men 1919 i got the photo from the longshopmuseum at leiston there was a large factory there called garrets and i believe the owner mr garret had sumthing to do with the opening of the saxmundum to aldburgh line the thomas george my grt granfather i belive also was a steam traction engine driver with garrets they made them also all other types of engeneering work thanks for your kind reply
