Well I am booked on this along with Matt for our Christmas 'jolly'! Ralph is working so not sure who will make sure we get back to the station for the return on time...

May see some of you about, Neil.

Looks like it is now 44871 as motive power for this tour according to RTC website. As 5690 is out tomorrow on the Xmas Fellsman there doesn't seem to be a problem with Leander??
    Regards,
    John.

That's the problem with working, not allowed to touch a drop so if you think I am sitting in a pub on coke just to make sure you get back to the train in time... :mmph:

I did not say that they were all as concientious as me, or perhaps just in for a meal.

Anyone out for this one? Transpennine expresses were being diverted along the calder valley route the last few weekends, haven't seen any information regarding this coming weekend though.
    Regards,
    John.

TPE's will be diverted that way next weekend as well according to someone who wishes to remain anonymous. In 2008 going east, water was taken at Castleton in the loop just before the station and at Brighouse on the return. http://www.uksteam.info/tours/t08/t1214a.htm

Times now on uk steam. Watering at Eccles then top up at Brighouse. Routed via Morley and Leeds.
Hope to be out for this one, work etc permitting.
    Regards,
    John.

And I see that according to UK Steam there will be the 47 on the back.... So the train should be warm.

That might depend on which coach you are in. RMB 1861 was nice and warm on The Tin Bath Extra when it was steam-heated, but there appeared to be no heating in it on The Lindum Fayre when the train was "heated" by 57601.
