Sarah Siddons, LT stock.

Small update on Sarah Siddions, the loco has entered Ruislip depot(transplant). This is to enable lifting of the loco to remove springs so they can be sent away for overhaul, after the discovery of a broken spring during inspetion before the amersham herritage weekend in the summer. pictures added.

Also Q-stock well under overhaul at TMU acton so should to be too far in the future before we see three heritage trains on LU........
Anyone fancy a full London underground gathering with units, coaching stock, and Steam?
Also should a Vic line stock be saved? does that now class as herritage?

Is the Q-stock getting a full overhaul to running condition now, or is there still only funding to "static museum standard plus"? Btw, is there any news about the CHT's units and when they might be seen in service again?

I haven't heard or read anything official for bringing the q-stock back to running condition, but they seam to really be going to town on it for "a paintbrush overhaul". I think there is certainly an intention to get it back running in the not too distant future!!! CHT..... i have no idea... sorry.

Looking forward to good LT weekend as soon as Sarah Siddons is back in action. Missed so many chances to see this gem.

 

Ok been a while but Sarah Siddons is finally going back together shall try and get some pics on monday when im back in work.

 

I regret to say I am old enough to remember the slick change over electric to steam and vice versa at Rickmansworth.My great Grandfather was Station Master at Ricky although he retired in 1922 before the electric sevice started.My Grandfather was Station Master at Grandborough Road and Croxley Green.
