Here are 11 photos by Les Tindall recording the final day of BR services to Swanage with Hampshire DEMU 1110. There are also four photos of the two foot gauge Fayle's tramway at Norden, now home to the Purbeck Mining and Mineral Museum. I hope they are of interest.

Just to say I have published two more collection of photos taken in January which build on Les Tindall's 'Last day' pix.

The first covers a visit to the Swanage Rly itself when winter maintenance was in hand. I have also included a Les Tindall shot of M7 No 53 in the USA in 1979:

The second collection covers the Purbeck Mineral & Mining Museum, which is being developed next to the Swanage Rly station at Norden:

I wonder how many know that Welsh Highland 'Russell' ended its working life at Norden?

Thanks Andrew; I was there that day working on 6695, so definitely of interest!

Good to see a few shots of the ballast working as well.
