What a comprehensive collection, its noticeable how the technique and picture quality improve over the years.

Indeed, and what has occurred to me for some time is how the permanent way has improved since the fities and sixties. The locos and stock look so stable.

I've just gone through this again and realise how lucky we are up north, firstly to have such scenic locations, secondly to have such a magnificent loco in these locations, thirdly someone sharing their videos of the above with us.
Several clips stand out to me as being different, the one at 7.05, Pleasington where there is the patch of sunlight that 6233 runs into on the approach and at 10.00 where the station announcer can be heard, 'The train approaching does not stop', too right as she hurtles into view, and finally the same location where the unsuspecting passenger steps back, as again 6233 storms through in the fading evening light.

My thoughts exactly, I really enjoyed watching this video, it brightened up my day, my cup tea was cold when I finally picked it up.

    Great compilation.

If anything has gone downhill over the years though it's the stock. Uniformly maroon in the early years, but a hotchpotch mixture these days.

Many thanks all and sorry for the slow reply. I like Ralph's point about sharing the shots. When I started out in '03 there was no YouTube, and whilst I enjoyed capturing the videos there was a sense that nobody was ever really going to see them. It's rewarding to share the footage and to have the videos of others just lined up on the evening after a run is pretty amazing. You have to wonder what the effect of this has been to the sales of the professional video companies. It's not uncommon to have videos from forum members depicting the whole of the climb up Shap for instance. I know I've not bought as many videos in the last 5 years or so.

I watched this over New Year, and like most of your videos, was very impressed. It's a very nice compilation. Some of your other stuff is excellent - particularly the film of 48151 at Ais Gill and 46115 on Shap. Look forward to seeing more stuff this year!
