37042 to Preserved Railway????

    Hi All,

    I have heard roumers going around that Split Box & EWS Liveried 37042 has been preserved from Doncaster...

    Was though in speculation as to wonder if anyone "might" have an idea as to what Preserved Railway 042 might be headed???

    But I guess at the moment it is all speculation...

    If "Anyone" has any ideas or anything - Let us know???

    Rumour seems to be that it will be going to the Devon Diesel Society as spares their existing 37.

    I'm afraid that its all an absolute load of tosh that 37 042 has been purchased by the Devon Diesel Society - it hasn't, and neither is D402 to leave the SDR once returned to working order as stated elsewhere in the press this month. No firm plans have been made for the 50 once it has been restored, other than it is expected to both appear on its home line and make visits to others, much as D6737 has done / is doing.

    37042 arrived at the Eden Valley Railway on 12th April. It is owned by a private individual and not the railway. I understand that it is not too far from being a runner and will be restored to full working order in due course.
