Quite a lot of shunting on Saturday at Ropley (I was TTI on the DMU) so everying was in a different position each time we passed.

Some nice pics on the watercress line web site - particularly Wadebridge and Swanage side by side facing the shed.

Canpacs tender was in the wheeldrop to have its leading wheelset put back in - I believe it might be lifted and turned next week.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh, LOL, this is a big secret Pete and you must not tell a soul about this .

It is going into Stroudleys improved engine green to give all the "rivet counters" their next heart attack.

    Now ducking for cover.

I understand that this was the agreement between the Maunsell Society and the MHR before the loan of the tender took place David.

For what it's worth, I think 31806 looks superb in her new coat of paint and I look forward to having the chance to see her for real. Congratulations to all at Ropley on that one.

A lovely Southern Region to add to their collection. I imagine that it will not be tackled for some time, with 76017 undergoing overhaul and 75079 awaiting restoration.

Well, what about malachite green with BRITISH RAILWAYS lettering on the tender as per 92 squadron? Number her with the temporary S prefix and you're away :)

The transistion livery was very handsome, Malachite suits the locomotive well and the letter while interesting also plays into the MHR's loose policy of BR era running.

Shouldnt it down to what livery the NRM want? if the paint on the engine is good, why change it, as long as the engine can be re assembled without damaging the finish i would expect that it would stay in its present livery

Presumably 850, 828 and 506 all feature in the plan somewhere - or are they all being restored / worked on by stand-alone groups?
