With all this talk of Mr Bunch's bunch of loco's (no pun intended) leaving in the next few years - just what if anything is being lined up to replace them?

Assuming that replacements will appear,(I'd be very interested to know what possibly could be out there) could it be that any negotiations taking place are delaying the departure of the loco's, or are both parties honouring the contract till end?

I was asking what if anything would come in from outside the MHR - not whats already there, be it a single loco or a brace.

The locos that Neil listed are ones that have either been acquired, come into service, or are currently under overhaul to replace the JB locos.

Fair enough Matt, thanks for clarifying things, certainly looking forward to when 'Sir Fred' is back together.

Well there is "Lord Nelson" and "Cheltenham" for starters, and I assume that 9F 92212 will be staying at the Mid-Hants for a while as it can no longer work on the mainline.

Please see the MHR website stock list for details.

I was just wondering, that depending where Mr Bunch takes his loco's to - given that most lines have a finite amount of space on which to put engines, then assuming push comes to shove - surely some resident engines may find they have to move elsewhere ie to the MHR perhaps?

I just find it an interesting scenario.

Also I for one am looking forward to seeing Cheltenham back in service, the 9F I have a soft spot for (dont ask me why!), I'm also looking forward to ongoing restorations come to fruition & admire what the MHR has achieved already & looking to achieve in the future - including what the wagon group gets up to (enjoyed the guided tour at Medstead last spring gala).

As for "Nellie" - the things knackered - either give it to the Swanage to play with or give it back to the NRM so they can stick it on a plinth!

    Ducks & runs for cover.

As far as I'm aware 92212 is owned completely by the MHRPS? A certain person I know sold his share in the loco and helped out in the initial restoration of the loco. And because a 9F couldn't go mainline was one of the reasons why.

If the 9F is owned by the MHR, then why does the website show it as being privately owned?

I was under the impression Mr. Hoskins is the owner of 92212

Acually I understand it is not that knackered. The boiler problems have already been sorted out and bottom end is being done this time, so hopefully the MHR should have a few years out of it.

LOL, you can come our from behind the wall now.

That's a very good point - That I do not know; unfortunately. Maybe someone else can point us into the direction of whom owns 92212? I don't think Jeremy Hosking owns her? So if not the MHRPS; possibly a mixed share from various people?

Jeremy Hosking bought 92212, I seem to recall at about the same time that he bought 70000 (within a few days of each other). Of course it may be possible that he subsequently sold it on to the MHRPS or the MHR but, if he did, wouldn't it appear in their accounts? I think he still owns it.

Thanks for the Clarification 61624. Much appreciated. As to earlier posts in this thread; I can certainly see 92212 staying at the MHR if this is the case.

It would be more interesting to have 850 at Swanage.
