They wont be missing. Why does she need them though for a private test run? They wont effect her performance so no need to put them on till the last minute.

Any ideas what could be causing the bad steam leak to both cylinders and air pump as seen in the photos and videos?

    Regards
    Jake

Sorry I didn't recognise you Leon - really enjoyed seeing her race through Lancaster in your video without any escaping vapour. Very reassuring.

Without any suggestion that this is the problem with 34067, when a centre piston gland packing went on 34081 a lot of steam came out from both side of the casing at the front end.

Like the quote re the ugly air pump in the pic at Hellifield, kind of matches the rest of the loco.

44932 now replaces 34067 on evening Brighton trip on Monday 14 February. Tangmere presumably not yet ready.

Tangmere certainly looked to be running better on Thursday's loaded test run then it did on Tuesday's.
I've uploaded video's of both loaded test runs with both filmed at Carnforth and Lancaster station.

A quick note to loco owners and their employee's/volunteers, if you watch the videos of what the railway enthusiast's film you can hear and see if the locomotive is running as it should. Any tell tale signs of were steam is not where it should be. You can not always tell if you are onboard the train/loco.

Interesting how there was such a steam cloud around the front end at one stage and then no sign of it later? In my ignorance of WC's, is that the fault or is it just the way she was being driven, lots of clag and safety valves lifting as well?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Re. the steam from the front, she had just been given a very hard run from the youtube vids I've seen, will this have anything to do with it?

Any news on further runs this w/e & early next week, cos I've seen her a fair few times down my way by work (Andover) but I'm up at my parents for a long w/e near Lancaster for a bit of r&r & the Ribble w/e, so it would be great to see her up ere. Cheers.
