Sounds like a busman's holiday to me...

Anyway, hope all is well with Tangmere and any further info on test runs/move south appreciated.

    Thanks, Neil.

We can take it! In amongst the incredible popularity of Bulleid's pacifics. Just look at how many related threads show up on the Forum Index page for Steam!

Although the Gas Works Railway has two threads on that index page for once, both about the same subject:-

City of Truro maximum speed, and restoration of a steam traction engine!

    LOL!

I find that Southern and LNER fans are a lot like fans of Everton, Machester City, Spurs and Scotland. I support Everton you see and I know that we find Liverpools apathy towards us very annoying. Although at times we can be very good we know deep deep down that we havn't won the European Cup 5 times. Worse still even though we despise the red lot, they don't actually care if we exist or not, presumably because if you think you're the best why bother with anyone else. Therefore I don't dislike Bulleid pacifics they are quite a nice engine for what they are. :) Muchly laughing, don't actually mean it.

Not at all. A traction engine has a higher top speed. :)

Exactly, so as a Bulleid, LNER and Spurs fan I don't care if any of the other lot exist at all. Collectively my lot are simply the best. :)

Ok, to settle the matter I suggest a tug of war: A King against a Merchant Navy... ;) Hehe

Edward II would be the best King to use, he'd love the sailors in the Merchant Navy!

The King would win because the odds are stacked up better for it to keep it's feet. A tug of war would not in this case be a suitable or fair test to determine which of the two designs is the more superior. Having said all the above the King doesn't have steam sanders sop may still loose. :))
