Agreed. From the SVR Rolling Stock Trust website is the following, giving a taste of what's involved:

"The SVR’s Autumn Steam Gala saw the completion of our LMS 1934 First Open No.7511. At 6pm on Thursday, the day before to be precise, ten years work came to an end. Over 50 volunteers, 42 club sponsors and £75,000 has been needed to fulfil this task"

Anyone taking on one such project has to know where that cash and those sponsors are going to come from. If they come from other projects, what else won't happen instead?

Travelling Post Office No. 80307 is to be sold by Severn Valley Railway Holdings PLC as it is surplus to requirements. The TPO has a completely original interior. SVR official site news section http://www.svr.co.uk/News.aspx

One of two BG's used for storage at my workplace is to be sold to create room for other rolling stock. Both BG's are watertight and largely complete although one is missing some underframe equipment. They are believed to have been used on WCML services into the 1990s and are thus still main line registered. Both are ETH and PA fitted.

Please PM me for more details.

A Class 101 Driving Trailer vehicle (the ex Nevile Hill stores coach 56342) is for sale at the Midland Railway Butterley.

"It is basicaly complete, apart from seats (which we have some that are available) but it does require a full re wire"

I am just passing this info on, so I'll forward the seller's details to anyone who may be seriously interested (PM me)

From a posting on the railc yahoo group:

"We have at Shackerstone a lms bg the body is in poor condition but complete good bogies both corridor ends fitted we want £800 it will be going for scrap in the next 14 days"

I believe this is BG 31359. Might make a useful stores coach or else spares for another BG.

This is odd, how old is this message please? As far as I am aware, in the last few months the NVR has purchased an LMS BG from Battlefield to go with the LMS TPO. I can't see any other LMS BGs at the Battlefield on the VCT register so presumeably it is this one. I queried this with one of the NVR staff today, the description matches i.e. a BR built LMS BG with good bogies and corridor ends. He said that as far as he knew, money had changed hands and transport was being arranged, with delivery planned for sometime around easter.

Can anyone confirm this, or at least give an indication of how old this advert is? PM if necessary and I can pass it on - there is potentially something not quite right here. Thanks!

    Paul

As posted on railc yahoo group:

The underframe for LMS BCK 6839 will be scrapped next week (presumably 26th April). If anyone wants the underframe I suggest they contact the Avon Valley Railway ASAP. If anyone wants spares they will need to contact the scrapman (presumably via the Avon Valley Railway, as the email doesn't give the scrap merchant's name).

See here for details of the coach remains:

LMS BG mentioned earlier has moved... I was involved in the preparing of site and rail for it, and its arrival.
