Latest on 34067?

Looks like Tangmere may well be making its journey south sooner than planned as it has now been rostered to replace "Ollie" on Steam Dreams' St Davids Day Express on 1 March.

 

Hmm.. saw it shunted by an 08 shunter, in steam, on to the turntable and turned to face south and put outside the steam shed, last thursday I think, or the thursday before , cos' next day it was back at the workshop, it sat there for a few days and then disappeared, probably into the workshop as I've heard its got a few more things needing sorting. still no sign today.

barking mad, unless tangmere appears in steam early tomorrow morning, I don't think it'll be going anywhere.

I guess they would not do that if they are serious about it taking a fully-laden Cathedrals Express out on Tuesday?

You could take a look at www.livestream.com/wcml_cam. it's booked through Preston @10 40 so it should pass Euxton later?

 

Tangmere move today definitely cancelled. Loco still in workshop at Steamtown, so no move imminent.

it was not anywhere to be seen at carnforth this morning, so its still in the workshop.

 

Has anyone got any insider knowledge on what the problem is with Tangmere - assuming there is a problem as I don't see any other reason why it would cancel it's run South & it's availablilty for the following day at such short notice otherwise?

It's next scheduled outing is the Bath & Bristol in 2 1/2 weeks time, so I guess they've got a little time to sort anything out. Guess if they're fixing something that they'll probably pop in another test run prior to it's run down here before then, or is it time get our crystal balls out?

Cheers to all the updates the other day - I was able to let my brother know so he wasn't standing out in the cold too long for a train that was never going to appear.
