I have just tried again, and fotopic is still down. Getting on for two hours, quite a long time! Hope *they* fix it soon, as I will want to post later on!

    Add:

I've just had another go at 2015 BST, so it has been down for nearly 12 hours.........

    This is rather worrying......

Pics from around Barcelona, earlier this month (sunny and warm too):

Trams and Metros, including the city's two tram networks, the heritage Tramvia Blau, the Aerial Tramway, and the FGC commuter network, both standard and metre gauge:

Heavy rail, a lot of units but also some locos and even an old Alco:

Just a couple of new pics in this collection of "new railway" stuff:

Just in case anyone wants to see the sights:

Everything that's new is marked as new!

Is it still possible to buy prints of your photos from Fotopic?

I`ve had a couple of e-mails from people asking whether they can buy some prints but fotopic wont let them, although it was possible a few months ago.
Tried myself but its not going to the checkout.
I have sent a query to them but not holding out for a quick reply

Neither the main search box, nor the minibox search function seem to be working.

I know this has been discussed elsewhere, but has anyone had a reply from fotopic on the subject?

Fotopic seems to have gone belly-up again today.

Does anybody know what happened and when we can expect to get it back again?

I tried to email Fotopic support this afternoon and it got bounced.

The auto-reply said "No MX or A record for fotopic.net", which suggests it may be serious. If a site's "A" record is not defined, then it isn't going to be seen anywhere else. Also, the IP address doesn't respond to a PING.

Something may be getting changed over, but thus far, no news is no news.

i feel us users should get some sort of reimbursment for the inconvenience it annoys me alot as it seems to happen quite often an extra month on our subs would be acceptable, i have around 2000 hits a week people using it as a source of info as it is updated on a very regular basis

If it doesnt come back online in the next few days I will drive down to Outwood on the other side of Wakefield where they are based and see if there's any sign of life.

I look at your sight 68077 quite abit as its good to see all thats happening at the Spa Valley. All my site's are down which as someone said above is annoying, I am now a premium user as some of my photos from the Bluebell's extention got so many hits that it took me over my 'plus' limit. It isn't cheap so some sort of compensation would be nice if this is going to go on a while!

There will soon be the following option:

    http://www.pikfu.com/

Which reportedly you will be able to transfer fotopic galleries to. Its made by Fotopics original creator. That is assuming Fotopic returns at all.

Let's hope that that won't be necessary.

The only problem I have with Flickr is it just isnt as nicely set out IMHO. With Fotopic I have a simple list of dated collections, whereas with Flickr it gets a bit muddled, alright if you only take a couple of hundred shots a year but when you take a couple of thousand its a different story. Think of how many archive collections are uploaded to Fotopic for starters........

It does seem strange fotopic has once again vanished. Didn't it do this a year or two ago and there were rumours it was closing?

TBH it has been some weeks, perhaps even near a month since the search facility actually worked. I sent a message a week and a half ago about the matter but the 'ticket' has remained open and i got no response which is highly unusual for fotopic as i usually get a response within 2 days. It's also been a very long time since they last did there offer where you get double the quota you pay for.

If the site is moving servers or even closing they could at least send a global email to warn users. Unless of course there is a major problem then it's understanding. But as i said the search feature yet again went from very slow to non working like it did a year ago before they moved to the new server.

12" Coch RSH: I am a member of both flickr & fotopic. The quality you get with flickr out does anything fotopic can give however you have a limit of how much you can upload on a free account. Firstly you have a monthly upload limit, but the other snag is you are limited to 200 photos. You can still upload but lets say you uploaded 210 shots, the first 10 you uploaded will become dormant and you wont be able to access them unless you delete 10 other shots, or buy a premium account. Yet another snag is you can only use paypal i think, whereas fotopic had other payment methods. Fotopic is far better in the sense you can just top up your quota without needing to be paying monthly/yearly.
