Attached is a photo of our latest loco overhaul, 2 ft gauge Jung "Mallet" 0-4-4-0TT 4878 of 1930 - Jatibarang No 9.

It can be seen running for the first time at our Enthusiast Day on the 26th of March.

After that it will be going on its Easter hols to North Wales!

Henry, that does indeed look a magnificent restoration - a wee bit different to it's former guise in Java though!

A couple of questions about the loco Henry, what are the vital stats. for this loco., weight? horsepower? coupled wheel dia? This info could give a guide to potential performance in the upcoming 'trials' in North Wales, especially against the similar size Ffestiniog engines that have modern, superheated boilers and improved draughting. I do hope that it acquits itself well on the slopes around Beddgelert, it will certainly be a sight to be relished - particularly with that livery!.

Well done with the restoration to the team at Statfold, another quality loco rebuild.

    Cheers

    Alan

Sheff, You only live down the road, why not help raise funds for local charities and go to Statfold and see it sooner?
You know it makes sense :)

Did it originally have a tender? Is the livery prototypical?

    Looks meaty!!

Thanks, so a visit is a win-win all round! Perhaps they ought to make that more prominment on the form? I'll be sending mine off for sure.

    Chris

It appears to have been built as a tank loco and you can clearly see where the back bunker etc have been altered and the cab extended. However the records state it was supplied as a tender loco so its a bit of a mystery!

When we stripped it down we found numerous layers of paint including dark blue so we decided to use that. The lining and lettering though are our addition.

    Regards

The railway is wholey privately owned and run.

The Enthusiast Days are just a way of sharing what Graham has achieved, with like minded people!

We set up a "Friends" Trust just to administer and forward on the Donations we receive, to various Charities

    Hope that clarifies the situation
