    Does anyone have any data on any Steam Excursions in the late 70's, early 80's in Stockport. That ran the section of line between Stockport -adswood-Cheadle Heath a long the embankment to-Sharston or back the other way. I have the Duchess of Hamilton in my mind, but I think I am total way off the mark.

    Going through the Railtour files on Six Bells Junction, they all seem to be coming up Diesels. Perhaps the question I have asked is missing the mark. Did anyone see any steam trains using this section of line between Stockport- Asdwood- cheadle Heath and Sharston. between 1976-84.

    There was a tour with a B1 which ran round at Northenden and a 9F tour in late 1967, which I believe was the last time 9F was on a passenger train.

    This is a bit earlier than I was looking for, but it must of passed my Infant school at Royal Oak,Wythenshawe. We use to run across the school field to wave at the train drivers with great excitement. Oh well, showing my age. Cheers David.
