I appeciate its a little bit 'how long is a piece of string', but what sort of price would you expect to pay for an average sized 0-4-0DM industrial diesel shunter in non-working but complete condition?

Feel free to PM if easier.

    Thanks in advance.

It all depends on the definition of "complete" condition. If everything is complete....all the parts are there and only needs reassembly, a few niggles to sort out then you can almost class this as working condition. However the deal is to haggle! so always have a look and inspection of the loco before you go ahead in asking a price! Get a rough figure of the current scrap price per tonne as well to base your bid or what you want to pay for the loco.

However i recently enquired about a working 0-4-0DM and was quoted under 10k.

    Hope that helps
