Surely there could be a loophole. Australia isn't free of the monarchy are they?

There seems to be plenty of interesting steam locomotives over here in Australia.

Sadly for me though, the NSW transport musuem closed today for a few weeks...
    just as I arrived :-(

http://www.82045.org.uk/index.html indicates people have suggested that this type could be an ideal candidate for limited series production. My view is it simplifies the fulfillment of any "repeat order" and any patterns I have made for 82045 have been made with a view to them being reusable.
I can concur that quite a reasonable number of patterns are now known of/available as the BRSLOG pattern list presently runs to over 450 lines. Of course, anyone wishing to use of any of those patterns must negotiate terms directly with the owner(s).

I was aware of the 82045 group's proposal that the prairie would make an excellent candidate for limited series production, it was just that it had not been referred to on here until now.

Could be a bit of a niche market but I would like to see a replica of the Selsey Tramway Peckett 2-4-2T 'Selsey'.

    I can dream :)

There's the potential for a Midland & Great Northern 4-4-0 from supposed boiler surviving from, with a lot of common Midland parts, lord knows, could paint in other fictitious pre group liveries of similar 4-4-0s, but no one seems interested in forming a group; the big money seems to be in 2-8-2s or maybe a Garrett?!? Perhaps we should try to restore the M&GN 4-4-0 and the LSWR 0-4-4T & the Drummond 'Bug' (&Deans goods boiler?) before embarking on 2 2-8-2s(unless its a 'P1') maybe the Aussies will part with a rusty 'Galloping Alice' in a few years time if we let them win the Ashes(this comment is designed to provoke them into doing so!). Then there's a fantastic variety of vintage rolling stock that people have saved a long long time ago- it may be a great idea to restore all this first for less money than a Mikado to make great preserved lines better and add to the fledgling ones to attract the Public to enjoy their days out more, assuring a long term future for more lines and a place in the future. But unlike Osborne et al, have no wish to dictate what people spend money on.

does anyone know what's going on with the a1 trust concerning the P2? Tornado has understandably taken precedence these last few months, but surely there must have been some progress with the testing of the loco computer model? Anyone?

Not heard anything about theirs, but the Doncaster P2 Locomotive trust is getting their frames cut sometime about now according to the RM

Going to look pretty daft if the VAB doesnt accept the 'Vampire sim' P2 Model arent they ?

That's on the assumption it won't pass. The Deltarail simulation is there to show where further modifications need to be made (if they need to be made). The VAB won't pass or fail a case for a P2 simply on the basis of a single simulation - multiple simulations with further fixes will be played.

never knew there was another P2 project. That will be awesome, seeing 2 P2's running up and down the country on main and preserved lines. No matter what the outcome of the Deltarail comp. model, we should end up with at least 1!

Of course they wont, each mod and re-run is more paid work...
Potential fixes being what exactly sideplay in the axles and con rods ? thinner flanges ? then what; Kraus helmholtz arrangement ? smaller driving wheels? ... or that tried and tested one, rebuild it as a pacific!
Dont get me wrong, i hope at least one gets built, but cutting frames before you know exactly what they are going to house seems a little unscientific.
