Just to say, reading elsewhere, IR is not particularly amused about the comments on here made about the use of 44871. Especially as the winter work on the loco was not due to be finished until the 15th of April & is being pushed through a fortnight early! Remarkable when you read what work was involved.

Yes I have see that, unfortunately there will always be the few who will post these comments without thinking of the consequences of their remarks, ending up with NP being ridiculed elsewhere.
There is no real answer except heavy modding and ruthless censorship, and that is not the way to go.

Ian and his team have obviously worked their balls off to get 44871 ready, and those remarks are bound to be very annoying.

Looks like the engine and coach movement takes the Barnsley branch to return to Bury. That will mean a reversal at Wakefield or turn on the triangle nearby ? to face chimney first away.

Agreed, excellent job by Mr Riley and his team and well done on getting her ready in time for this tour.

I went out to Astley and saw 44871 cruise efffortlessly past and she sounded as smooth as anything. I may go out later to see the return somewhere hereabouts. I will post up a video later.
