After a lengthy engine overhaul, Class 45 45149 starts up at Toddington for the first time since its withrawal with a traction motor fault in September 1987.
After 3 previous attempts, the 'Peak' finally burst into life and started.

    Thats Fantastic!

Really great to hear news that another Preserved Locomotive is back in working condition & maybe back prowling the preserved lines - If travelling BUT good to see if the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway have a diesel event or running day...

Well Done OWNERS of 45149 at GWSR!!!!

Superb. The 44s-46s have always been my favourite class of diesel locomotive. All you have to do now is paint it green :D

Please could someone from the 45 149 group post on update on here with the latest news. I'm looking forward to seeing her run again soon. Do you have any sort of estimated date for when this might be?

    Best wishes,

    Attention 'Peak' fans:

There is a two page feature on 45 149 in the new (December) edition of "Railways Illustrated". It tells the story of how the loco was acquired for preservation and how the rebuild is going. Just waiting now for that all important first running date.
