    "Locomotives

A line up of home based and visiting locomotives will be anounced closer to the event"

I'd say it could go either way yet .

Like I said from what I know so far, and lets be honest "Black Prince" will obviously feature.

No I do not currently volunteer
Yeah should be a good event...

Interesting to hear that 92203 is gonna be visiting the event as currently 92203 resides at the Railway Age in Crewe...

I would of thought they will take it out by Low Loader to NNR as the locomotive hasn't got TPWS or OTMR fitted to it...

But will wait & see on what happens nearer the time!!

Do we really need to see the rumours of what 'might' attend?

I've heard and read it so many times the flying pig is going to go there and each time it hasn't happened. Until the NNR officially confirms it i wont believe it. 'Other sources' seems to give the impression its from a mag or just hear say.

One of the gala organisers for the NNR has said that hopefully ONE further guest will join 92203. This may change of course but as this was said on the 26th of March i assume it is still the case.

So having said that i would think the gala will consist of the majority of the following locos:

    65462
    Ring Haw
    Wissington if ready?
    8572 if ready?
    L99
    5619
92203 - which will of course arrive by low loader.
    And another guest.

And i must point out... the provisional lineup is only going to be made available to NNR volunteers surely... so why would you think we would have an idea...?

Hi Kieran, my point may have come across incorrectly or has been mis-interpreted. I meant "what / how do you think the will gala turn out?" considering the recent gala's have been outstanding.

With the 'Flying Pig', I too have heard many times it will be there but hasn't materialised. (Of course all locomotives subject to availability/repairs)

Sorry if there was any confusion.

The NNR has an agreement that 43106 WILL visit from Mid-August and be present for the Autumn Gala. We have advised via the railway press to that effect. How much more convincing do you need Kieran? Also if you read the press you will realise that 45305 has also been secured for the event. Negotiations for another engine is in progress. Kieran you pretend to know what's happening at the NNR but you may well be surprised by the line-up in September!

As the person who has the honour of organising the timetable/loco rosters/crew diagrams for our gala's, I can confirm what Steve has said above. 43106 and 45305 are not rumours - they are promised and agreed. We ARE looking for one more loco (I stated the case again today!!) and I will not say what it is (and never do) until it is confirmed as I don't want to start speculation. As soon as I know one way or another, I will post.

The proposed line up as it stands today is from a pool of :- 65462, 69621, 8572, 43106, 45305, 92203, guest yet to be agreed, L99. ALL are subject to availability, as always.

    My mouth is watering!!!

    Mark, NNR.

Your not the only one that's got a mouth watering.

So after that confirmation do you think this will be the best gala yet?

Not sure why you are accusing me of pretending, i am not pretending anything thanks.

I wanted to see an official confirmation that is all.... specially as i remember a magazine saying both 45305 & 43106 would attend a previous gala.

And can i just point out before your post nothing was confirmed in this thread... just this statement : "'Other sources' I hear there's going to be a Black 5, and "Flying Pig" visiting." That is hardly an official confirmation is it! I do not read magazines much, and rely on the website which is usually the ultimate source for the right info.

Anyway, it's nice to see the pig will finally visit the NNR, and i look forward to hearing about the other guest.

Kieran, I cannot remember seeing any article (I might have missed it!) saying both 43106/45305 would be appearing at a gala, it was probably the speculation that was on this forum. 45305 was going to appear last September, but didn't make it, and 43106 has been linked with us before, but again only by speculation.

I would like to say again, though, that anything posted on here by myself will be fact, and will be correct to the best of my knowlage. Doesn't mean it won't change, in which case I will post also, and the Railway's website will also be generally correct.

Cheers for now, Mark M, NNR.

Looks very good at the moment.
Are the NNR getting any closer to using the Sheringham crossing at Galas for shuttles to Cromer? I know this has been discussed before and that there are only a limited amounts of crossings a year, but has anyone got any updates for future plans? Obviously mainline locos and crews would be necessary for a start.

isport, I don't think that we will be using the crossing for trains to Cromer this year. Now we have had the final O.K. to use it, we are seeing how the system works before planning too much for it. The NENTA in July will be a good indication of this. Personally, I like the idea, but it has not been spoken of seriously yet, and would only be done if we had the resources in place, and of course if the price is right! Please, everyone, don't speculate as to this, if is is going to happen, we will let you know.

Hoping to go to NNR for the first time ever, this certainly looks like a great introduction to the railway.
