Has an original 28xx ever worked on the line in preservation before? I cant recall 2857 ever visiting the WSR.

3802, 3822 and 3850 of the 2884 series have worked on the WSR, but this is the first of the 28xxs.

No. 2807 is coming to the end of her 'mini-tour' visiting the WSR and GCR. She's made many new friends and shown she's a strong performer.

This coming week she returns home to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire, and will be running the first few weeks of steam services between Cheltenham Racecourse and Winchcombe.

Friday 22 April, Good Friday, will be the first day of operation of the 'GWSR South', and also 2807's first visit (in preservation) to the Cheltenham Racecourse station.

    Not to be missed!

No. 2807 arrived at Winchcombe this afternoon (the tender at about 3pm, loco at about 5pm) and is being prepared for services on Good Friday 22 April.

Just thought I'd revive this thread with a video from the recent 2807 supporters day on 5th May. It was great to see 2807 back in action again, especially with the new paintwork which looked exceedingly smart - well done. A most enjoyable day out, all the better for being free.....
Although I did buy a book from sales stand and made a donation to the landslip appeal whilst I was there.
Anyway, here's the High Definition video:
    (HD) GWSR - 5/05/12 No:2807 supporters day - YouTube
The video is about 12minutes long, and in it No:2807 is seen arriving at Cheltenham, running round, then on board at various locations, including passing newly repainted ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No:8724 in the new loop at Gotherington. We then see the 2-8-0 running round and Winchcombe, departing up the grade towards Greet Tunnel, then running around at Cheltenham once again, and, finally, departing Cheltenham Racecourse.
Considering it was quite a blustery day, I was very pleased with how the sound turned out with only very minimal wind noise in couple of clips - the Windcutter device I purchased for my camcorder back in September is evidently working well (Stick-On WindCutter <br /> for Consumer Camcorders Wind noise problem?
