Enjoyed all your photos and videos - here are mine

The outbound run at South Stoke

Even in late April, the light is getting horribly harsh, even before 11am. A word of warning to anyone going to the bridge at South Stoke while the temporary structure is in use - it shakes like a jelly even when someone walks over it, so not the best video platform. Still a nice location - at least till the wires go up.

For the evening return working I used a location at Kennington I haven't been to before - lovely evening lighting, broadside on, a storm building in the background, and even got the rods down :) 70000 looked great, but I'll agree with what others have said - not as noisy as Ollie

Very nice pictures Steve......up to your usual high standards. Shame about the bridge at South Stoke.

We remarked on the very harsh light, especially on Saturday for the Brit. and the longer distance shots are now hampered by the filthy atmosphere!

Thanks - yes, South Stoke is a sad loss. Once rebuilt, I expect stills will be OK as long as you take step ladders, but video will probably be very difficult with such high sides now installed as routine

I've been rather busy all day, but did manage to get a few piccies of 70000 at Reading onto Flickr this evening. Here's the link for anyone interested to see them :

With a bit of luck, I shall have time to get the ones from the stop at Cholsey on the return journey on Flickr tomorrow. Watch this space...

Thanks for your kind words Steve. Strange that I didn't see you at Didcot on Saturday!

Anyway, further to yesterday's message, the pictures of 70000 catching the evening sun at Cholsey are now on Flickr and if anyone would like to have a look, here's the link :

Hope that they are of interest. In due course I shall get some of the pictures taken at Didcot on the www; you have been warned!
