Electric Railway Museum Limited is delighted to announce that their next public open weekend will be held at their site on Rowley Road, Baginton on the weekend of Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd of May 2011.

Visitors to the event will be able to view the extensive collection of electric locomotives and multiple units present on the site; such as the Clacton Class 309s, the Wirral Class 503 (in correct formation), the Heysham and Spondon power station locos and the unique 2-EPB unit in a refined version of its ‘Street Art’ livery that was the star of the show at the previous open weekend in September 2010. There will also be plenty of opportunity for visitors to find out more on the progress being made by Electric Railway Museum in developing the site into a
visitor attraction. Visitors can also meet the people behind the project and learn what the Museum’s future plans involve.

The stock on site will be uncovered for the event and some items will be open for interior
viewing, including the Driving Motor coach of the 503 unit. Organised tours and talks of the collection will be run over the whole weekend or alternatively visitors can walk round and view the collection and the museum’s displays at their own pace.

In addition to the regular museum collection there will be a number of vintage road vehicles visiting the site with a large display in the field adjoining the railway sidings. The display will include commercial and military vehicles and it is hoped to have at least one operating steam traction engine on site each day (subject to availability).
The museum is not able to offer train rides to visitors at present but some of the Museum's electric and diesel locomotives will be operating demonstration freight trips on the site's demonstration track.

There will be plenty for all the family at this event and importantly admission to the event is free on both days.
Opening times are: 11:00 to 17:00 Both Days

There will be on-site car parking available. If you are traveling by public transport, bus service No. 1 runs from the over bridge at the north end of Coventry railway station (bus stop is on the opposite side of the road from the station). The Electric Railway Museum is a fifteenminute walk along Rowley Road from the bus stop at Toll Bar Roundabout. The public can obtain further information from the Electric Railway Museum Website (see signature).
