I thought it about time we started a thread on the loco roster at the PBR as it could vary quite a bit this year.

As per the last two weekends this weekend will see services in the hands of 37216 and 73128 with 3CEP 1198 for stock. 37216 will lead up hill.

    regards
    Alistair

This weekend it should be 37216 and No.19 (steam), with 37216 on the uphill end

No.19 is standing in for 73128
    regards

I read somewhere that the 42xx sat on a section of track in the depot area has been sold to the East Kent Railway ? And that the 96xx (ex Cardiff Hotel) will be moved inside Top Shed soon for restoration to start ?

What colours are the 37's going into and are they both operational bar paint at the moment ?

    Great Western.

HI GW that is correct (well almost)

the 42 has been sold to the KESR and should be moving there soon, but I don't know when. Restoration work on the pannier has been gong for quite some time, but out in the open so very slow. Now they can move it undercover (once 37421 is finished) and work on it what ever the weather.

Both 37s operational, 216 to be green, 421 to be regional railways. And when it arrives in September 219 will be mainline blue.

    regards
    Alistair

Three Class 37's very nice indeed. Do you guys have a suitable train of wagons for them to trash up the bank with ?

It is almost unbeliveable that we are talking about the same P&BR that looked more like a scrapyard than railway some years ago.

It must be close to the top of the Welsh League table for preservered lines?

    Great Western.

We do have wagons, sadly not 40 or so 16t minerals to really give them something to get to grips with.

The railway is really progressing now, now longer two coaches and two strips of metal running through the grass. It'll take some time but we're getting the word out now and passenger numbers are on the rise. Who knows where we'll be in 5 years time.

    regards

Sadly someone has built a Tesco's and a dual carriageway over the trackbed at the Pontypool end so reaching Ponty is a little difficult.

Mind you on the Titfield Thunderbolt they ran a 1400 down the street so i wonder if we could adopt the same approach.......I'll get me coat!

This weekend (30/31 July) will be Hudswell D1387 and Bagnall No. 19 top and tail. Austerity 71515 is receving a boiler washout and will be back out next weekend.

You can try on You tube, if you want a taster.. I'd say they pretty much give a good flavour of the situation. Or, you can try Ali Greive (alig8048) of this parish, who has been known to take a few hundred or so photos of the action.

If you haven't been, then you might want to try it in person.....

    Regards,
    Ian
