No times on Uk steam but interesting to note that also on Saturday 35028 is working a Vic-Didcot, Oxford-Vic VSOE working.

I'd presume the private charter to be either 4965 or 5043? Will be interesting to see what develops!

I wonder if Ben @ Tyseley is happy to pass on outline times? It may be that the trip is supposed to be a surprise for someone? There was a retirement special for the NR Charters boss (Steve Cornish??) a couple of years ago which was supposed to be kept secret. IIRC, word leaked out the night before...

Probably, the best we can do is keep an eye on UKsteam.

Think you might be 12 months too late for that one!

44871 seems to be crossed out at the top of the timings page.

The path is accurate, the year seems to be wrong on Uksteam.info though - that's all.

Timings now on uksteam.info. 5043 Tender first Moor St to Stratford, then rr and to Oxford. Turns at Didcot then runs back to Stratford to rr and run tender first back to Moor St. http://uksteam.info/tours/t11/t0514e.htm

Now all we need to guess is what/who is it for?

So, we're being well and truly spoiled for mainline steam in the Thames Valley area this weekend.

Tomorrow we have 44871 and 45407 on the Cathedrals Express down the GWR mainline, while some hours earlier Oliver Cromwell's running light engine in the opposite direction.

Then on Saturday we have Clan Line, 45305 and Oliver Cromwell through the Staines/Egham area, plus Earl of Mount Edgcumbe and Clan Line to Didcot and Oxford, while the two Black 5's head back north via the High Wycombe line.

It's going to be a race to fit it all in!:car:

Good luck with your exams then, do well!

Anyway, in fact this time next month looks pretty juicy too - within a week we get 4492, one of the Britannias, double headed 4965/5043, then within another week there's an 8F from Aldershot and 35028 to Bristol. Plus Swanage Belles, VSOE's and even the 8F round the Surrey Hills too. Bound to be lots of light engine moves to go with all of that.

Now, get back to that revision and stop messing about on the internet!! :nono:
