This sounds a great narrow gauge event and being fairly close to me I intend to visit on Sunday. Can anyone give any idea what the other locos rostered for the main trains are likely to be? It would be great if the Baldwin was running as well, or Elf as I haven't seen that for years!

    Thanks,
    Karl

Karl, Our three "main-line" locomotives in general use are 778 (Baldwin), Elf and Doll. I belive that the plan is to use 778 over the weekend plus one other, so you may be in luck in on both counts. I am departing for Leighton Buzzard to help with the setting up shortly, so I will try and find out.

For those interested, our other steam locomotives avaiable for traffic this year, are Chaloner, Pixie, Rishra, Sezela No.4 and Peter Pan. P.C.Allen in undergoing a ten year overhaul, and restoration continues on Pedemoura and Elidir.

Thanks for the quick response William. Any 2 of those three will be good for me, with all the coffee pots as well!

Glad to see Pixie is back. Had my first ever ride on the LBNGR behind her back in the very early 1970s. Recall seeing her "preserved" at the Leather Bottle pub prior to that. Looking forward to some double headed Wren class action this year.

Just back from Leighton Buzzard. The "main line" loco roster, states that Elf will be used on Saturday and Elf and Doll on Sunday.

I can also report that all the "Coffee Pots" have now arrived, Perseverance being the last to arrive at about 20:00 this evening.

Just got back myself. Nice little do. Elf and Doll on main duties, with 4 nice Coffee pots at Stonehenge, plus one other doing rides at Pages Park. Also smaller ones at Stonehenge. Numbers looked pretty good with all trains full. A good few people including yours truly got caught out with the weather, as it was much colder than expected.

A fun do but I made it five coffee pots at Stonehenge : Chaloner, Taffy, Leary, Iorwerth and No.4. There was a sixth but that was craned onto a trailer and left quite early. I think it was no.69 but I can't be sure. The road going coffee pot was an absolute hoot. Didn't so much as do a run past but more like a bounce pass such was the effect of all the reciprocating masses.

I'm sorry I didn't get to chat Ian, was on a flyer - fully meant to, but got dragged off on my whirlwind tour! Hope you got a few groats towards 34081!

Twas indeed a good weekend, although having spent the vast majority of it chuffing up and down on the 7 1/4" line I'm now somewhat kaput. Was good to meet Anthony at last, however briefly, and I did get a short play on Leary, which was nice.

Never mind Anthony. I noticed Cliff whisking you off. I did manage to sell him a raffle ticket later though. Trade was far from brisk though. The set up at Stonehenge wasn't ideal and people didn't have very long to browse. The weekend wasn't a total disaster though.

I popped along on Sunday and my photos from the day can be found here http://paulgildersleve.smugmug.com/
Nice to meet you Ian, tucked behind the station shop at Stonehenge where nobody could find you!

    Regards,

    Paul

Nice to meet you too Paul. Some people would say that tucking me away where nobody can find me is a good idea. :)

Was a good weekend, could have been bettered if all the wagons had been cleared out of the long siding at Stonehengem to give a bit of a longer run, but a minor thing really.
