4472/60103 1960's onwards in preservation

    Hi All

    I have added a collection of over 70 photos of 4472/60103 Flying Scotsman since it was preserved in the 1960’s, Photos include its trip to Canada, restoration at Hunslet Leeds, tours with and without the 2 tenders, All photos are of 4472 in LNER apple green livery with & without smoke deflectors & as 60103 in brunswick green with smoke deflectors

    some nice shots

    Im still trying to find evidence of Flying Scotman running into Liverpool Exchange in the mid late 1960s, still havent found anything.

    In 1969 Scotsman was shipped from Liverpool Docks to the USA. It first went to Edge Hill MPD (a diesel depot then) and then it was towed along the Bootle branch to the docks for onwards shipment, on the Saxonia, to the USA.

    yeah it was from the bottom of Millers bridge on Regent road.
    I knew the driver who drove it from Edge hill when it came back and was all rusty.

    but my dad reckons he saw it on a railtour in the mid 1960s running in LNER livery but we've never been able to find any evidence.

    Good selection of photos you have there Neil.

    Very rare to find photos of 4472/60103 when it was at Llangollen. Thanks for sharing.
