Thanks to every one involved for a very good day out, it's a pity the weather did't coperate and also the person's involved in setting fire to the trackside south of Rotherham,at least the firemen and police got some good pictures, looking forward to the Bristol trip.

Many thanks to all those who posted pics and vids on here. And before anyone asks, the photo Stuart took must have been a trick of the light. 5043's smokebox door has definitely not been painted in "two tone black".
With regard to the lineside fire yes they are ars*h*les , they held us up plus the trains preceding us and following us.
When we were brought to a stop there were three kids aged about 10 - 14 years old lurking in the bushes about three hundred yards from the site of the fire. When they realised that we were reporting them to the police at the site of the fire they soon departed the scene.

Decided to leave the SLR in the camera bag on Saturday night. Who'd have thought it was the first weekend of summer.

Anyway, I've uploaded a video to YouTube.....a big thanks goes to the crew for the Whistle. I bet half of Pontefract could hear it !!

Sorry the Barbed wire used on the left looks like a post 1985 galvanised version with a double twist

It'll have loads of cuts and blood stains on it from barbed wire spotting!

    Regards,
