Some very interesting tours on offer and indeed in the planning stages looking at this:

The Pannier tour and the Castle to Scotland look like booking material to me...

The 'Cathedrals Express' looks pretty damn good. When was the last time that steam has travelled over the line between Worcester and Oxford? I'm pretty interested in that one, but I promised myself I'd go to York the weekend after, and I've already booked the time off! Hats off to the Tyseley gang for pulling a few crackers out of the ether.

    Crikey thats quite a programme!

Double headed 5043 and 6201 over Shap and the S&C?! Only Tyseley could come up with that! Will 9600 be attached at Appleby for some assistance up Ais Gill?

GW locos that have operated in Scotland also include City of Truro which worked a number of trips from the Glasgow area with preserved Scottish locos during the late 1950's. They even had clearance problems with it then!

that double header is a must for me, having seen the castle run its a noise maker and after my run behind 6201 a few weeks ago that thing was turned up to level 11 and the speakers only went up to level 10 lol, but no i shall certainly be on this one!! Fair play to the guys at Vintage looks a very interesting set of tours lined up, also interested in the double headed panniers

Looks like Tyesley could be costing me £150 next year, that trip to Edinburgh is a cracker.

Trouble is whether to go for speed or slog? I can imagine a fast ascent would be over very quickly - would it be better to go through Tebay only at 60mph and then make even more noise?

Those two don't need to be going slow to make a lot of noise....

Some very good tour ideas there. The one that catches my eye is the weekend trip to Glasgow with 6201, The Coronation Scot. I just hope that Mr Meanley doesn't have to reprise Robert Riddles' role in getting a vital part overhauled overnight.

So they've gone for the three-day option? Do you have the prices in the letter?

Does anyone know if the works that have been undertaken in the Newcastle area in recent years mean that a Castle would be allowed to work through? I had the feeling as a layman that in the past this was not possible.

So to do the 3 days is £200 before hotels? Hmm bit steeper than I had hoped, but then again when will a Castle attack Beattock and go over the Forth Bridge again??

3 days for £200 is a bargain compared to the ACE, £249 for only 2 days on the train.
