Merely making an observation, thought it would be easier for people to see the picture. There was no criticism made. Like the MHR restorations thread, you do or say something, especially if you try to something helpful, there are always sarcastic people ready to jump down your throat. Shan't bother in future. People have also done the same with uksteam because the loco for today's SE had to change.

Nice to see her with a fire in her bellly again :) Well remember 6960 arriving at Steamtown from Barry in 1972. Me and a mate climbed onto the smokebox top and spent hours trying to clean the copper cap on her chimney - happy days !

I don't think that Steve (West Somerset Wizard of wsr.org.uk) was having a go - if you can help as he suggested with ways of searching for/finding pictures I am sure he would be prepared to consider if it is suitable for inclusion on the site. I have no connection with the site but use it on a daily basis and find it a mine of info and pictures about the West Somerset, especially as I can not get there anywhere near as often as I would wish.

To me this comment with an exclamation mark seems a bit sarcastic. "Suggestions as to improve finding pictures welcomed!" I did not say anything about the site itself.

  7. I was genuinely concerned about your earlier comment about the site being a "Bit of a minefield to try & find pictures on that site" and I wondered if you or anyone had any suggestions. I'm not sure why you felt I was criticising you but if I gave that impression it was certainly not my intention. I gave the permalink (available under each picture) as it also gives the picture and the caption, along with the copyright stuff, and I believe the latter is important. Going back to you earlier comment, navigation is always a key element of a website so I'm always interested in feedback from users to help me improve things. Thanks.

It wasn't deliberate to post the picture link only, but it was the only way I could find to do it by using "copy image address". I tried copying the picture & info of 6960 web address but it only took you to the first picture in the series (A 67 on a tour train I think). What I was getting at was the grid of tiny thumbnails on the right, might be my eyes but I find them a bit difficult to identify.

  9. Ah, right. Thanks for that.

    Steve,
I too had difficulty finding the picture, purely because of the size of the thumbnails. I wonder whether when opening the latest pictures page it could show the thumbnails in relatively large size, rather than the first picture and the small thumbnails? I personally have no desire to look at diesels, but will happily look at steam pictures. As such, i'd rather pick and choose through thumbnails I can atually see, rather than have to look through all the pictures to try and find the nice stuff.
    Hope this is of assistance.
    Daniel

  11. Thanks Daniel and buseng for your feedback about the size of the thumbnails. It's given me a few ideas to work on. Thanks.
