Great picture - remember seeing you all on the trip. However I wasn't there in 1967 - I was only 3 years old then!

Great videos. I think the shot of the 8F compares with the one I found of 34067 hammering through Woking for showing the splendour of steam hard at work. Superb! I am still on a high from this trip.

Great Shot Bryan, do you have any more form back in the 60s?

Both photos were both taken by John Tiley. A real gentleman in the 1960s and unchanged today.

My stuff from the 1960s, (still got a couple of classes to add), is here:

    KentYeti's 1960s SR steam photos

Some are just about OK. But some were taken with a Brownie 127: that used reject milk bottle glass bottoms for the lens!

You are far too modest Bryan - that's a super collection of photos.

For it's day, the Brownie was a great little camera, the ultimate point and shoot. Probably as a first camera that started many peoples interest in photography. Their results, all things considered, were pretty good.

What a great collection of photos. 34027 spent a fair amount of time around Sussex and Kent/Sussex border in the days of steam then. I have a book on her which has pictures of her at Brighton and on the Cuckoo Line.

It was my 1st camera as well, took many shedbashing pictures with it along with holiday snaps. The original print size was quite small so had them enlarged to "enprints". I think mine was a Mk1 model with a smaller viewfinder etc. Don't forget you could only take 8 pictures on each roll of film, then take it to your local chemist for developing which took about a week. "Upgraded" in the mid 60's to a Crown Coronet or something which took square pictures & an optional flash gun. A far cry from whipping out you mobile phone & taking an instantly viewable picture!

Royals Pete: You need a scanner that takes film inserts, bigger of course than 35mm.I think Box Brownie film took 620 film, either 2" 1/4sq or slightly larger.and adobe photoshop.More complicated than modern digital of course.
But it can be achieved with a lot of skill and patience.
