I should say only the very earliest photos were taken with the Brownie. From around Spring 1962 I had a small folding Balda roll film camera that used negs similar to, but not the same size as 35 mm.

I had some small prints from some of the photos that I scanned and then Photoshoped. For the others, because of their unique size, I had to have the negs hand printed! Very costly.

Then I scanned them before Photoshoping.

I run a number of web sites so it was easy when I had scanned them all etc to set up web pages. Just a few more to do from 1960s SR days.

Thanks for that; obviously given yourself a bit of work to do, but enjoyable when you get the desired results. I suppose my boxfuls of negs are in 35mm, including colour (and slides which were the fashion) , so I might take it a bit more seriously in due course. Keep up the good work, Bryan. Pete

I know all about the economics of this and I for one would be prepared to pay a higher price for the occasional day with decent timings, as opposed to the normal day of running with 12 coaches and slow timings, which doesnt seem to bother the average Steam Dreams punters who of course ensure that profits can be made. I fully understand that.

    Me too Don.

My actual number of steam trips on the ex SR with ex SR locos, (now there's asking a lot!), is still way below what I would like to do. I can cope with one trip like the one we did with Tangy to Swanage on June 30th maybe once a year. And joining and leaving at Woking to leave out the real drudge. Not that Wareham to Swanage was an exhilerating experience! But I think that was a superb day out for 99% of those onboard.

I'd happily pay a premium to get the chance of runs like last Saturdays whenever SD, (and all the others involved), can draw a very deep breath and do all the extra hard work. But I doubt very much there are more than a few of us prepared to pay the extra to see just a ten car train and 1960s schedules and/or running.

So I'll have to be content with SD's annual 9th July run, and the occasional other trip just so I don't forget what a Bulleid Light Pacific looks and sounds like!

My criteria for those other runs, by the way, is not excessive. If I think I can get one start to stop section in a whole day out, near enough unchecked with decent 75 mph running and a good time I'll grab the chance if I can. Even if it's only over the 23.5 miles rom Basingstoke to Woking.

Slightly late, but one from Waterloo after the run back (I've edited out the tail lamp and a guy standing next to the loco). Was a brilliant day, a lot has been said already so thanks to all those who organised it and were involved in the running of the trip.

A bit late I know but here is my video of the 8F's battle with Upwey Bank:

A bit of wind noise to begin with but then the sound of the Freight loco slogging up to the tunnels.
