Indeed she has. This was the unexpected sight that greeted me and dad when we collected the MH News for delivery duties (and squeezed in a ride behind 73096 & 31806 for good measure) this morning.

Thanks for the pic, does any one know if the loco is going straight to Ropley, or if it will be stored at Alresford for a while?

I suspect the restoration team behind her will be keen to get cracking, but i believe the plan is to build the tender first, so i suppose storage at Alresford will be the most likely option.

Well I think it was stored at Alresford on Friday. The 33 was waiting in the Cattle Dock ready to receive her from the low loader as we left behind 73096, and when we returned the 33 was back at Ropley with 34058 nowhere to be seen. We assumed she'd been tucked away down the bottom at Alresford as she definitely wasn't at Ropley.

Haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere on here but in the latest issue of The Railway Mag (out tommorrow) it says that 34058 has been donated by it's owner to the MHR and they now own the BoB. Great news. So the MHR now owns one of each: A Merchant Navy, a Spamcan WC and a rebuilt BoB.

That's increadably generous of the owners. IIRC, a small team has spent years assembling and refurbishing componants to a very high standard. The MHR is in a very good position now, having a mix of privately-owned, NRM and its own locos working the line.

Old news this though the owner was going to pop his clogs before handing it over to the MHRPS.

Maybe t it will jump up the restoration queue now?

    Kind regards.

It may be old news to those at the MHR but the rest of us appreciate the info. Comment regarding the owners mortality seems a little uncharitable.

Lets hope it won't be to long before 34058 enters Ropley shed. Just a small note to say the boiler from 34105 Swange has been removed from the frames yesterday.

Seems like there's tons of work going on at Ropley and sounds an exciting future, anyone able to give a quick rundown of what's in the works and when there expected out ?

They'll be ready when the're ready, but ....

76017 - as soon as possible, but boiler still needs extensive work
41312 - asap....awaiting strip down of boiler for timescale
30506 - not before mid-2014 as an estimate
    34105 - unknown, std 4 current priority
75079 - 4 years need to finish other boilers first
30499 - 5 to 8 years?? depending on finances and labour

Latest News .From the Urie S15 group explains that 499 has similar problems but not so severe with the frames next to the cylinders .This will be rectified during the overhaul.
the new cab looks interesting in its undercoat of dark green ,giving an idea how the loco will look in the future.
