Waiting to hear which dates it is rostered for - as soon as I know it will be posted. I would *guess* it will run this w/e on both days...

There's a post on the NYMR forum saying 6619 has been bought (well, in the process of being purchased) by a group of drivers at KESR. A useful loco to have when the extension opens.

Yes that is correct , its a group of members, not just drivers, and as part of the deal USA 65 is going on hire to Embasy for the rest of the season when 6619 comes to Rolvendon as a replacement its been agreed in principle that this will happen, but has yet to be confermed officially

Lovely news. 6619 was a favourite of mine when I was a kid living near the NYMR, and it will be nice to see her running on one of my current local lines.

I should imagine the low loader bringing 6619 could very well also take 65 to yorkshire , unless the loan is for next season ,so far there appear to be very few dates that have been announced,

if we get any more GW engines we are going to have to order more brasso either that or re brand ourselves as the WC& P (KENT) railway how are, our small ex southern engines going to cope with these new brash swindon creations when they gang up on them? so far 1638 is out numbered but once 6619 gets here and 4253 gets restored, will the copper cap reign supreme?

Is their a deliberate acquisitions policy going on at the K&ESR at the moment?

now that would be nice, or better still an SECR designed one , or an Ashford Mogol .

When we start running to Robertsbridge i should imagine a tender engine , of any type, will proove to be very useful , you have a far greater water capacity and no problem with coal either, where as on a tank engine you would i assume have to be very careful with the amount of coal you burn,Water can be taken at three stations, but if your running out of coal, you have to come off, and coal up which can disrupt the timetable

Has 6619 now worked its last trains at Embsay? Is it Beatrice & Norman working the two train Sunday service?

    Many thanks

It's a question of realitytaking hold is it not? Those railwaysthat have modern LMS and BR small to medium tank ngines are, for the most part, going to try to hang on to them. Thanks to Barry there are plenty of small to medium size tank engines to form a market. If the KESR want more class 3/4 tanks they are probably going to end up with more Swindon products becauser for the most part they are the ones being offered for sale.

true, but back then, the lines axle loading precluded using it so it went to the bluebell, now we can run anything except the most heavy of engines anything below RA7 i think was the limit axle wise in the last few years we have had a 42xx and a 4mt tank so i guess we could manage any medium to large engine i wouldnt like to risk a WC on Tenerden bank though, not without 2 terriers banking it
