Just had a look at that site but there seems to be error in the locations, had a look for three local ones and all are positioned in the middle of fields quite a long way from the nearest line?

A new site seems to have appeared on the internet which looks to be a work in progress and very welcome it is too !!

    http://brdatabase.atbhost.net/index.php

Just hope it does not disappear like the other sites have, as it is a really useful resource.

What with this new website, the CD from the Engine Shed Society and the new book from Hugh Longworth, we are spoiled for choice!

This new site, whilst admirable, seems to have fallen into the same trap as others have that have used infromation that has since been proven wrong by the What Really Happened To Steam project :- http://www.whatreallyhappenedtosteam.co.uk/index.htm

A sample loco to note. 45573 was listed as having been scrapped at Cashmore's, Great Bridge in the What Happened To Steam booklets, whereas in reality she was scrapped at Clayton & Davie’s yard at Dunston.

Thus, there are likely to be many more errors as a result of perpetuating these historical misinformations provided to Peter Hands ...

It is impossible to get everything right first time on a site like that - there is so much information that it has to come from various sources - it is not possible for me to go back in time and do all that research - I just have to go on what I can get - as more accurate information becomes available, I will incorporate it into the data. I started off by using basic data from various sites and books (mostly Trains Illustrated/Modern Railways, now supplemented with Railway Observer and SLS Journal notes), and not Peter Hands directly (although seemingly derived from his work through various iterations). When I know something to be incorrect, either through irrefutable photographic proof (is there such a thing?) or new information coming to hand, it will go on, but until then I haven't the time and resources to check the accuracy of every statement in these magazines.

And a final thought, where is this new information currently available?
