    Slightly better day today for the Spa.

    Went out for The Scarborough Spa with Black 5 44932 in charge, typical british summers day, on three runs there were three different light conditions, but no sun. Anyway here are the results. http://trev11.zenfolio.com/p980358986

    It has been a Black Five summer on the SSE this year and 44932 has done really well at times given the awkward pathing and schedules. The only real problem was on 9 August when a stuck clack valve meant the involvement of a diesel. 36 mph at the summit of the climb to Ardsley and the brisk runs from the York water stop to Scarborough show what this loco can do. Like others of its class, it remains one of the most useful steam locos this country has ever had.
