Like the sound of this little engine coming up. Should fit in well - fingers crossed the next will be just as good.

Would it be possible at the gala to have some of the non working locos pulled out of the storeage shed for photography?

Will No.49 be working over the whole line or is it still confined to just the top Sunniside section?

    Thanks

We will be looking at staging some shots on the Friday night, we will see what we can do with pulling some locos out. there will be more to photograph than ever this year......leaves you in suspense for now ;)

I guess its also time to announce our second visitor:

Built by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn again in 1948, Birkenhead will be the second visitor to the gala.

So now both visiting engines are announced all we have to do is pray for good weather :)

Birkenhead is a really good choice, a loco I suspect few will have seen before in action. Nice heavy trains please!

    Hi Andrew,

We are just finalising the last bis now...although it may not be available closer to the time.

I'm sure will be publishing start/end times though.

    Chris

P.S. The other thing we were emailing about is sorted and form handed in.

Which way are the visiting locos going to face please?

I see Agecroft (from the blog) is currently facing the "wrong way" to the "home fleet", not sure about Birkenhead (if arrived).

Any sign of that elusive timetable yet please?

    Best Regards

No I do not currently volunteer
I've been told timetables will be available on the day, first train expected to be around 9am if that helps! I will be there on Saturday, looking forward to it!

Having a genuine industrial railway locomotive turntable (ex Nostell Colliery) comes into its own at a time like this! Both visiting locos are due to be turned tomorrow morning to face smokebox towards Sunniside.

Will Agecroft be wearing that MMSI headboard?

Also is No.49 operating over all the line or is it restricted to the top end?

    Thanks

It will not be wearing the MMSI board while running.
and 49 is still limited to the top end unfortunely.
