Remarkable how little interest this run has had.

Thats probably because there have been no late changes to this trip as there are on so many other tours lately.

Anyone can submit updates, and as many as you like, whether on the train or at the lineside. You only have to register the phone you intend to use, this is just so that the incoming texts are traceable to avoid getting malicious ones..
The lack of input is an ongoing problem, getting members to make the effort to send in the updates, and various incentives have been tried.
I don't know if there were any members on board this run, but if so it's disappointing that they did not take the time just to send a few in.
I tend to send one on departure to confirm the loco etc and when we are running more or less to time, leaving noteable points en route, water stops etc. . If we get more than 10/15 minute ahead or behind then I will update a bit more often.

I would have posted a video of it near Tamworth but it was rather wet so isn't worth uploading. I have dried out now.

I didn't so any better, suffering a 'Camera says no' moment at Atherstone.

Tornado at Chester 10 September 2011

Peppercorn 4-6-2 No 60163 Tornado headed a Cathedrals Express today from London Euston to Chester. My first view of it came from the overbridge at the eastern end of the station, where the loco and its 13 Mark 1 coaches were stabled in the sidings. From the station itself a good view of the side and rear of the engine was obtained, the intermittent sunlight bringing the best from Tornado's new Brunswick green livery. The train then pulled out to the East junction and reversed into Platform 3. The sun was now on the wrong side of the loco as the train picked up its passengers and set off towards Crewe and Euston.

I think this discussion needs to be moved to a more appropriate place if it's to get a proper airing?
