No thread for this?! "Tornado" must getting as common as Clan Line on the VSOE

Anyway, it will be good to see it chuffing past the end of the garden again in Streatham, even if it is in the dark.

Looked good this morning at St.Catherine's lock Shalford meadows, a bit of a mist on the River Wey and a glint from the sun behind as
she went round to Shalford station for water with the Royal Scot set. Hope to be at Guildford station this evening for the return.

    Any updates would be appreciated.

Booked St Neots 12:27-12:30, past Great Paxton, a couple of miles north of St Neots at 12:41, so 7 or 8 minutes down. As usual, seemed to be getting on with the job without much fuss.

Thanks David / 5944 will also give it a miss, at lease passengers for Woking and Guildford could jump out at Kenny O if it gets too late

There is now a class 66 on the rear which wasn't there this morning, but it is not running.

Around 80 minutes late at St Neots, and nobody seemed in a hurry to get it away, as it overran its booked station time by several minutes.

Bit dark as it was so late, but never give up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHmGLvcS8hA

Just for the record she climbed Camden bank unassisted with 13 coaches and the box on the back. So instead of 13 with assistance she managed the equivalent of 16 without assistance.I did not notice any slipping either . Not much chance of making up time with starts fom Deepdene and Dorking Town with this load

Can anyone with knowledge,ie perhaps someone from Steam Dreams, advise if there has been a change in the regulations allowing Steam on the East Coast at busy times.
I notice that there was a diesel on the return of the special from Lincoln.Just like to know if this will be the situation in future. This would affect my booking on such trains.
I can understand why.I just would like it clarified.

We considered going on this one after the infamous run in April with 34067 left us with very little time to actually explore Lincoln. However, after seeing an article about this 15th September run in the local press which had the timings we changed our mind! Not getting back to Woking until after 23.10 is going to cause problems if the train is delayed anywhere enroute (as it was). I feel sorry for those on board. We know what it is like!
Steam Dreams don't seem to have much luck with runs starting South of London and heading for Lincoln. We've had yesterdays delayed run, the epic trip with 34067 and diesels and IIRC there was a trip in 2005 which had to go diesel hauled as there was not a crew for the booked steam loco 45231. Later in the day the diesel ran out of fuel and had to be refuelled by a farmer!
