    Look like two smashing engines; looking forward to seeing them.

    Snap, car was all loaded up with the model railway this morning (just as it started ot rain, typical!) will be leaving work as soon as I get clearance from the boss to go early - once I set up I will be joining some of you at the night shoot. Here's hoping the rain stays away.

    Thats us setup and looking forward to a good weekend. Always a really good event. Some great layouts, good trade support and some good grafting locomotives to appreciate. Please call in and say hello!

    Quick visit tonight on way from work; all locos in steam and a good turn out when I had to leave about 1915.

    Still no timetable sadly.....

    Roll on tomorrow.

    Timetable was printed on a few boards at various places about Marley Hill, first departure of a passenger train at 9.45am. Sorry I didn't enquire closer, I won't get there this weekend sadly, so didn't bother too much. Suspect it will be in the gala brochure they were advertising. However, watched the coal train come up Bob Gins, led by Birkenhead and banked by Agecroft, looked and sounded well. Anyone in any doubt as to whether you should go, just go! It will be great as ever.

    Suggestion for next time chaps, if you get chance, could some of the out of ticket engines be pulled out for display please?

    Been there all day today; started off with fog / drizzle, brightened up, half hour of rain this afternoon, enough of the weather report.

    Trains ran to time, no changes that I was aware of.

    Plenty travelling.

    A big "thumbs up" to all involved.

    This needs sorting for next time though;

    from the website;

    "Each year we re-design our timetable to give the best experience of the Tanfield Railway and this year is no exception. As soon as we have finalised our running timetable for the event it will be posted here"

    Was quoted weeks ago but never appeared, a minor "glitch" on an otherwise excellent gala.

    Well, just finished my day firing Cochrane, sitting in the field near Andrews House farm waiting for the final run to come past... A slightly unscheduled coal with 49 banked by Birkenhead, promises to sound good.

    Oh and I think I may have fallen in love with 14in Hawthorns!

    Nice photo of Birkenhead in today's Metro (at least the London edition) with the caption including a bit about the loco and gala.
